If there is such a thing as the "Andy Juhl sound", this album would be it! I used a lot of different synthesizers and guitar effects to create some really interesting sounds. (I like it anyway.) All the songs run together, and the last track brings back themes from the entire album. So, you could listen to this whole album straight through as one big musical suite! Pretty sweet!
This album is a tale of two halves. The first half has a fairly straight forward indie folk/rock vibe. The second half branches out into some more experimental territory. I think it works very well with the first and last tracks acting as a really nice bookends. Enjoy the ride on this land boat!
I recorded this album with NO INSTRUMENTS! What?! How is that possible? What does that even sound like?
I recorded a bunch of random sounds in and around a place called Pine Island. I then used those sounds to write and record the songs for this album. Trust me, it sounds really cool! I'm very happy with how it turned out, and I'm excited for you to hear it!
If you like indie folk/rock, this is the album for you! Songs of longing, love, and social consciousness. This album has it all! The mind has some wonderful paintings!
I think this is my longest album. Lots of great songs that I still play live today. There are several interludes that bridge songs together which makes for an enjoyable listening experience. We all get lost upon the ground sometimes!
